Original 1920’s Framed Newsstand Print
An original, 1920's Newsstand print, expertly float-framed on drench black.
The "wet and dry" campaign was a political and social struggle between supporters of alcohol prohibition ("drys") and those who opposed restrictions ("wets"), reflecting wider concerns about public health, morality, and social reform in Scotland.
The issue became especially important during and after the First World War, when concerns about workers' efficiency, public morality, and social problems increased. Although Scotland never adopted nationwide prohibition, the temperance movement was influential and led to tighter licensing laws and restrictions on alcohol sales.
Beautiful block-printed artwork, rich in history and craftsmanship, designed to grace the walls of the most discerning typography enthusiast.
