Original 1920’s Framed Newsstand Print

Sale price£275.00

An original, 1920's Newsstand print, expertly float-framed on drench black.

After World War I, Britain controlled the Baghdad Railway under a new League of Nations mandate. In 1920, the British used these rail lines to move troops quickly. Iraqi tribesmen fought back. They attacked the stations and tore up the train tracks to cut off British supplies.  The British used airplanes and armoured trains to protect the railway and put down the revolt.

Beautiful block-printed artwork, rich in history and craftsmanship, designed to grace the walls of the most discerning typography enthusiast.
