Original 1920’s Framed Newsstand Print
An original, 1920's Newsstand print, expertly float-framed on drench black.
In the 1900s, the marketing and advertising of life insurance really took off. As you may expect, 20th century advertising very much focused on the man as the breadwinner, with one Norwich Union advertisement from 1923 sternly asking working men: “What provision will you make for your wife?”
Take out a policy with a £25,000 valuation and every child in your household is covered at no extra cost. This compelling offer, featured in the Daily Mirror, was designed to capture attention, spark curiosity, and encourage enquiries. Such persuasive marketing techniques proved highly effective during the policy boom in the years following the First World War.
Beautiful block-printed artwork, rich in history and craftsmanship, designed to grace the walls of the most discerning typography enthusiast.
