Brass / Opaline Globe Ceiling Pendant
Once gracing the historic food hall of Cardiff’s iconic Howell’s Department Store, established in 1865, this magnificent ceiling pendant is a rare piece of the city’s retail heritage.
One of an original set of twelve, this is the last remaining example available, having been carefully removed during the House of Fraser rebrand in 2022.
Beautifully proportioned, the pendant features a generous glass dome shade suspended from an elegant, elongated brass rod. Its restrained design gives it a timeless quality, effortlessly combining period character with understated sophistication.
A striking statement above a kitchen island, in a hallway or reception room, this is more than simply a light fitting. Fully rewired and earthed, ready to be adopted into modern lighting circuits. Comes supplied with a 2w, dimmable LED bulb.
Please note: The brass gallery has one of the four retaining screws missing, as the riveted nut has been sheared from the gallery. The remaining three screws securely hold the glass dome shade. Alternatively, a new replacement gallery can be sourced. Please contact the store to request further photos and a condition report: hello@cloverstore.uk
